Base for your brygga:

For moderate speeds, you can use any kind of base without effecting the cutting capacity and precision of your brygga CNC router. However, a more rigid base will allow you to run the machine at higher speeds and acceleration rates without effecting cutting quality.

Whichever base you choose, you need to provide four attachment points for your brygga (six attachment points for the 4' by 8' configuration).

Base dimensions:

The inside dimension of the machine frame between the two long rails is 53 inches. Your base should not be any wider than that to avoid infterference with the carriages.

Support point spacing in the long direction (Y/A axis) should be:

39" for  4' x  4' size,

63" for  4' x  6' size,

87" for  4' x  8' size.

Attaching machine frame to base:

Wood bases:

Our preferred method for installation on wooden or composite bases is to install 52-1/2" long 3"x4.1# standard steel channels across the base and set the machine frame into those channels. This setup provides for good load distribution and adjustment capability. We offer special bolt-on brackets for this arrangement. Placed over the channels, these brackets lock themselves in place.

Another way to attach the machine frame to a base is with a pair of 80/20's 15-Series 8-hole (item #4338) inside corner gussets at each point, bolted to the inside of the long extrusions.

Steel bases:

A welded steel base with bracing creates a rigid foundation for your machine. Please contact us to discuss the many ways to attach the machine frame to a steel base.

A bolted base built from perforated steel tubing and bracing straps is easy to put together and easy to disassemble and works well. Please contact us to discuss the many ways to attach the machine frame to a steel base.

Once your brygga is securely attached onto your base and your machine frame is level at all corners, you can start with the installment of your spoil board.
